My working life exposes me to the management of finances, legal and contractual matters, health and safety, stakeholders and the management and development of teams, all skills which are used in the governor role of supporting the development of the school, and holding the school management to account.

I am an active member of Holy family Parish, and my two children attended Ladymount some years ago. I have been a foundation governor for a number of years, and I am currently chair of the governing body. I am passionate about maintaining the very special ethos and nature of our school, whilst moving within the ever changing educational environment.

I have been involved in the development of our school over recent years to the scale and quality it is now, and am very proud of the service we provide to the children in our care.

Ian Wheeler

Elected Parent Governor

Term of Office: 4 years until the end of August 2019

Our family have a +40-year connection with Ladymount and at the beginning of 2016/17 academic year our children are in Years 4, 1 and F2.

In 2015 I sold my financial services business and started my own management consultancy based in Heswall. In addition, I have been helping to develop a film production company with investment funding. When not at work, I enjoy football, running and playing golf (badly!). I’m very flexible with my time and make myself available to support Ladymount.

I was elected Parent Governor in 2015 and nominated Chair of the Pay/Personnel Committee in 2016. I approach this work with enthusiasm, utilising my networking and entrepreneurial skills to help Ladymount meet future objectives.

Sheena Manley

I have been associated with Ladymount Catholic School since 1984 and a Governor here for over 22 years.  I currently serve on the Curriculum and the Admission Committees.  I have worked within the school community for 31 years, mainly as a Teaching Assistant. My 5 children attended Ladymount and 8 of my 11 grandchildren are either past pupils, present pupils or currently attend our Pre-School.  My eldest son was a member of the first intake of the newly formed Pre-School in 1984 and I have been a member of their Voluntary Management Committee for many years.

Over the years I have acquired many skills relating to education and also to school governance.  I am a practicing Catholic with a long association with Holy Family Parish and have a good local knowledge.  I know many of the families in our school community and am delighted to meet so many of our past pupils, who are now bringing their own children to Ladymount.

Mark Goulding

I am currently Vice-Chair of the Governing Body and Chair of the Resources Committee.  I also serve on the Pay and Personnel Committee.

As a parishioner of Our Lady and St John, Heswall and a parent of two boys within the school (years 1 and 3), I really appreciate the opportunity I have to help our children achieve their full potential through a Catholic Education.  As a qualified accountant with 17 years experience within the Public Sector, I focus on the financial aspects of the school, ensuring we get the best value from the resources we have.  I've really enjoyed my role over the past 3 years and I look forward to contributing to the continued success of the school in the future.

Term of office: until August 2017.

I have been a member first of Our Lady and St. John and then Holy Family since 1998, my two sons both attended Ladymount, my eldest moving to secondary school in 2015, and my youngest in Year 6 in 2016-17.

I have been a lecturer in Computer Science at the University of Liverpool for the past 18 years, where I am director of a Master degree, and chair of the Board of Examiners for a suite of online Masters. I bring a solid experience in various aspects of education: curriculum development and accreditation, technology enhanced learning, quality assurance,  teaching/mentoring, diversity and equality (I lead a committee promoting and enhancing women careers in Science). I have been involved for the past 10 years in e-learning and novel frameworks for education. Before coming to Academia, and moving to UK, I was data manager and clerk for an independent Catholic school for the age range three to eighteen, in Italy.

Passionate about education, and grateful for the splendid environment Ladymount offers, it is a privilege for me to be able to provide my services as Governor to the school and the community.

Newly appointed to the role of Foundation Governor, I have been a member of Our Lady and St. John’s parish for over 25 years. I also have three children within the school, year 4, year 2 and F1.

My goal is to ensure that the Catholic Ethos runs throughout the school to produce an environment where the children thrive both educationally and spiritually. I decided to become a parent governor as I have lots of energy and enthusiasm. I feel that I have something useful to contribute.

I have a real connection with the school and the ethos of the staff. My boys appear happy and motivated in a positive and nurturing environment. I have made great links and friendships with many other parents and feel in a great position to represent the views of others. I strive to support the school to the best of my abilities.

Margi Milligan

I am a Staff Governor, having been employed as a Teaching Assistant at Ladymount since 2003.  Ladymount also provided me with the opportunity to reach Higher Level Teaching Assistant in 2009 to further my career.  I then went on to successfully achieve a Foundation Degree in Teaching and Learning Support.

I am a practicing Catholic and proud to be involved in the day-to-day life at Ladymount, contributing directly to the spiritual, academic and personal development of every child.

My daughter attended Ladymount from the age of 4 years and I therefore have first hand knowledge of what an education at Ladymount can provide.  I am proud to say she has just started a degree course at the University of Hull.

I was honoured to be asked to join the Governing Body in January of this year and am now part of the Curriculum Committee.

I have two children at Ladymount (Year3 and Year 5), and am a member of the parish of Our Lady & St John in Heswall where I am on the reader's rota at Sunday morning Mass.

As the Head of Corporate Legal and Assurance Services for a Government Department, I provide a wide range of legal advice and develop policies and strategies that meet the Department's and Government's objectives.  I became a Governor because I would like to use this experience to help focus educational aims and build on the great work of all the staff at Ladymount in helping each child fulfill their potential in a happy environment.

Chris Whitehead

I have been a parent at Ladymount for 10 years, with two daughters, Beth & Laura, who are now at Upton Hall and Matthew who is in Y5. I was privileged to serve as a parent governor for 4 years until September when I became a Foundation Governor.

My experience as a doctor and departmental head in the NHS helps me to understand the financial pressures and performance standards faced by the staff of Ladymount.   I have a special interest in healthcare leadership and as a Governor I want use these skills to help ensure that even in these difficult times, the staff are supported in maintaining the ethos of the school while they help our children reach their full potential. I am also the Governor for Safeguarding.

As well as being a family taxi driver, I enjoy cycling, watching football and cricket and very occasionally playing golf. I also play the organ at Our Lady & St John’s Church and for several years have helped the PTA – usually by being on the barbeque at the School Fair.
