Catholic Life at ladymount

At Ladymount, the Catholic life of the school is enhanced through worship, prayer and liturgies throughout the school year. Prayer is embedded into the daily life of the school and we regularly celebrate Mass in school.

‘This my command: love one another as I have loved you.’

(John 15:12)

Our School Mission Statement, ‘Love one another as I have loved you’, has implications for all of us that go beyond our school environment.  We recognise that every member of our school community exists as part of society. Every individual has a duty to share in promoting the welfare of the community and a right to benefit from that welfare. This applies at every level: local, national and international. As a result, we are delighted and proud to support many charitable organisations each year, such as: CAFOD, Caritas Shrewsbury, The Ark and many others. Our Mini Vinnies group lead on the school's fundraising activities.

We are continually and actively looking for ways to support social justice and peace. This is achieved through different fundraising activities and our curriculum.

'In Catholic Education, we are challenged by Christ 'to see his presence in our neighbour, especially the neighbour who suffers or who lacks what is essential to human flourishing.'  That is why the poor and disadvantage - in financial, social, academic or spiritual terms - must be our primary concern, so that they can live their lives to the full.'
