The children in Year 1 & 2 had a lovely morning on Friday, having had the opportunity to walk to church to meet Father Stephen. The sun was shining and everybody made it safely to church with our fantastic team of parent helpers and the KS1 staff.

At church, Father Stephen kindly explained all about the history of Holy Family and invited the children to take a little tour inside to learn more about the Stations of the Cross and the important symbols we use when celebrating Mass - a great opportunity to learn even more about our current RE Topic!

He then answered lots of the children's questions which were very thoughtful and reflective. Everybody learnt so much about the important job Father Stephen does and he gave us some exciting information about his time training to become a priest whilst he lived in Rome - plus lots of facts all about the special colours of the different seasons in the liturgical calendar.

The children behaved beautifully and even clocked up 4500 steps which was a bit like a mini pilgrimage for our youngest children in Y1. This offered a super link to our recent event 'Walk Against Hunger' - raising awareness through the great work of CAFOD.
