Welcome to Year Two
You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself any direction you choose.
— Dr Seuss

This year we are fortunate that some of our teachers are currently undergoing training for Forest Schools therefore the children will be regularly taking part in Forest School sessions outside in our nature area. It is an opportunity to develop their confidence and self esteem in a natural setting, building skills and creating a more well rounded & happy child. If you would like to read more information on the Forest Schools ethos please click on the link below which will take you to the website.

This term we will be looking at how we have all been chosen by God whether it is to do a big job just like Moses or a small job, we are all important to Him.

This half term we have planned most of our lessons around our China topic. We will be starting our China topic by visiting the Terracotta Warriors and then linking our Geography topic comparing our local area to a non European country. We will be looking at what is similar in our countries and what is completely different and hopefully will establish some links with some other children in China .

In our Art and DT work we will be exploring different Chinese crafts, model building, paper craft as well as having a go at some traditional Chinese painting Sumi-e.

In PE we will be practicing some Chinese dancing and we might have a returned visit from our Ladymount Chinese lions.

Thank you for your continued support!
