COMING UP IN YEAR TWO...
On Thursday 7th December we will be taking the children on a school trip to see the Hope Nativity play at Heswall Methodist Church. Thank you to all the parents who have volunteered to help on the day, we're sure it will be a fun, festive afternoon!
Christmas Production of Prickly Hay!
Rehearsals are underway and the costumes are being organised for the telling of the greatest story in Bethlehem! The children will be performing the play of Prickly Hay on Monday 11th & Tuesday 12th December at 2pm. Make sure you have submitted your ticket request as it is ticket only entry on the day.
Please make sure your child has their costume clearly labelled in a plastic bag in school ready for Friday 8th December so that we can check everyone has the correct items.
YEAR TWO: CURRENT R.E. TOPIC
This term we will be looking at how there are sometimes mysteries in the world that cannot be solved but if we put our faith in God he will be able to guide us.
We will be looking at what heaven is like, the Holy Trinity, Mary & Joseph's journey to Bethlehem and the birth of Jesus Christ.
YEAR TWO: CURRENT CREATIVE TOPIC - LIFE 100 YEARS AGO
This half term we will be looking at what life was really like for people in England 100 years ago. What was it like to go to school back then? How is it different from our school today? We will also be learning how sketch using pencil and charcoal portraits of very important monarchs from that time.
Coming up: We will be turning back time and making our classrooms look like what it was like 100 years ago. The children will be taking part in activities similar to what children would have done back then (some not very nice) so that they can fully understand how different it was!
We will be dressing up for the day in typical clothing from that period so if you are able to provide a simple costume for your child for the day it would be greatly appreciated (we do have a few items if you are struggling to find something). More information will be given on this closer to the time.
Thank you for your continue support!
