Welcome from our Headteacher

Welcome to the website for Ladymount Catholic Primary School, a school where our greatest assets are the children themselves. Ladymount is a school where children are happy and love to learn, and a place where adults find immense joy and job satisfaction. We provide a holistic approach to education, facilitating the academic, social, emotional and spiritual well being and growth of the children in our care. Our work is informed and underpinned by the Gospel Values and we aim to ensure that the experience of all who visit, attend and work in our school is that of acceptance, respect, understanding, support and Christ like love.

Ladymount is a forward-looking school which recognises the importance of educating pupils for the 21st Century. By the time your child leaves us, they will be equipped with many of the academic, social and moral skills and attributes they will need to deal with the wider world.

The education of a child is very much a partnership between home and school and in addition to this, for us as a Catholic School, the Parish community that can offer additional support in spiritual and faith development. We are very keen to engage with parents in order to ensure that each child receives the best opportunities to grow and learn, at school, at home and beyond. Through an open door policy we strive to work with parents through an open and collaborative relationship.

The leadership team, including Governors, strive to ensure that the strategic planning for the school facilitates continued and appropriate development of educational provisions . Staff work hard to ensure that the children have educational experiences that will stimulate their thirst for learning, whatever their interests may be whether this be through core teaching, specialist provisions or the wider curriculum including extra curricular activities. For example our chess team has built a reputation for excellence at a national level; children enjoy foreign language classes in French and Spanish; instrumental tuition, choir and school productions are experiences available for those who wish to develop their talents in the performing arts.

Our school website will keep you up to date with information on school activities and class arrangements. For those of you who are considering a place for your son or daughter at Ladymount, most of what you may want to now about the school can be found here. However, we would also be delighted to arrange a visit with you to experience the school’s unique qualities for yourself. Simply call the school office to book an appointment.

I hope you find the website informative and easy to navigate and i look forward to meeting you.
